Progress Reporting

Getting managers to produce a periodic progress report can be hard work - they'd always rather be doing something else, usually nearer the coalface!

If you are a senior manager it also helps if each manager reporting to you supplies their progress in the same way as each other, each week. Once you get the information you need to be able to quickly determine which areas need attention.

Silver-Owl provides a framework for recording key information. It makes it so easy that it's easier to do it than argue about it. Projects can follow standard templates if you wish, with stages and milestones predefined - the manager only needs to enter the dates. This can save hours every month over traditional methods.

Project Level

Every project may be tracked against key user-defined Stages/Milestones using your workflow framework as a template.

By entering target dates and revising them as the project progresses the degree of slippage is automatically measured against a colour "signal" (e.g. red, amber, green etc) based upon user defined criteria.

Slippage can be measured against soft or hard targets, and against either the original target or the previous week. The measure can be in percentage terms or in days. The degree of slippage is set by you.

These Progress Reports may also include narrative and are linked to the risks, assumptions and issues register.

Progress Reports may be printed in a consistent format for presentation to senior management or customers.

Business Level

The same data is used to produce a high-level Programme Status Report and Programme Roadmap (in Gantt chart format)
