Information Database

Are there random things that you know, that people keep asking you about?

The chances are that there are! What's more, people who have asked you before will still keep coming to you and asking about it again, partly because you know the answer but mainly because it's the sort of thing that isn't stored anywhere else.

It might be a phone number. Perhaps it's something you have to remember to do in certain circumstances. Or it could be where to find something.

Repeatedly giving out that information can be a pain - it interrupts what you're doing, and causes a problem if you're not there. Avoid re-inventing the wheel!

Silver-Owl incorporates a general Information Database, designed to store all these random snippets of information for use by anyone when they need to know something. Data can accessed by lots of different keys, so you can store it under "things that X knows", and "things about Y", and "things relating to Z" if you want.

Every time someone needs each piece of information they can get it quickly and immediately, saving more time and money!

Personal Level

Information is visible to everyone.

It is placed in electronic 'folders' and stored on 'Shelves'. Each item can be assigned to many folders so that you can more easily find it by looking through the structured list of shelves and folders.

External electronic documents can be attached to any item so that you can open them from Silver-Owl.

Items can be 'approved', preventing further update without creating a new 'version'.
